He had been shot twice - once in the back and once in the head.

He was found by a local postman at 2:10pm on Monday September 25th, 1995 - the Saturday after the All-Ireland football final between Dublin and Tyrone.

He was last seen by his daughter on Saturday September 23rd when he dropped her at her flat in Limerick.

Mr Cusack was a separated father of seven involved in cattle, sheep and horse dealing.

Speaking today, Detective Inspector Eamon O'Neill of Henry Street garda station said: "We are anxious to speak to anyone who has information in relation to the murder of John Cusack."

"We believe that there are persons out there that have information that would be beneficial to the case."

"Perhaps you were aware of suspicious activity in the run up to or between Saturday September 23rd and Monday September 25th and thought nothing of it at the time. Even the smallest piece of information, which may seem insignificant, might help with the investigation," he added.

Anybody with information can call the freephone Crimestoppers anonymously on 1800-25-00-25. Callers may receive a reward for information which significantly helps the investigation.
