The Tánaiste Joan Burton has been named as the Woman of the Year at the Irish Tatler Awards.
The Labour Party leader received the honour at a ceremony in Dublin on Saturday night.
The ceremony, which was hosted by Irish Tatler publisher, Norah Casey was held at the Four Seasons and sought to honour “some of Ireland’s most renowned leading business, media and entertainment women.”
Ms Philomena Lee was also honoured at the ceremony for her bravery.
Others honoured on the night were Deirdre O’Kane, who was named woman of the year in the Film and TV category, and Cork’s inspiring Joanne O’Riordan.
