The Labour Party website has until today still been describing how the Minister for Social Protection was "challenging the government".

Joan Burton's profile on the site begins with a description of her Dublin-West constituency.

But in the second paragraph it had stated that she was the party's "spokesperson on Finance which makes her a key player in challenging the Government".

That was a position Ms. Burton held before the General-Election more than 2 years ago.

Over the weekend Minister Burton said Ireland had "reached the limits of austerity" and that ordinary people were shouldering too much of the burden.
