Jeremy Clarkson's new show on Amazon Prime looks set to make him the highest paid TV presenter in Britain, as well as having a huge budget for all the team's hijinks

Although Jeremy Clarkson no longer works for the BBC after the two parted ways when he had an altercation with a producer a few months ago, it seems that he has landed on his feet thanks to his new deal with Amazon.

The company's streaming service, Prime, is already breaking the bank to fund three series of the show by spending £160 million on the 36 episodes, but the wage packet that Clarkson is set to earn is reported to be equally huge.

According to The Mirror, a senior source in the industry said that Clarkson will be paid £30 million (€41,280,404) over the three series of the show, "with the other two not far behind, on the same deal as the producer".

That would see Clarkson earning about £800,000 (€1,100,810) per episode, with Clarkson and May getting about £600,000 (€825,608) per show.

The new program is due to air on the streaming service next autumn, and will present some competition to the new version of Top Gear, which will be fronted by Chris Evans on the BBC.
