The daughter of a Dublin man last seen 41 years ago today has said she would love to get closure on the case before she dies.

58-year-old Albert Timmins was last seen on December 23rd, 1980 and his daughter Carol Morris is again appealing for any information on his disappearance.

Carol was just 16 when her father left home to meet a friend at the Viscount Pub in Whitehall.

“He was a happy-go-lucky man,” she said. “Very hard working and very good to us.

“I got up the next morning and went up to our own house and noticed the bed hadn’t been slept in and his lunch that I made the night before was still on the table.”

Over four decades later, Carol says there has been no trace of him.

“It is very hard,” she said.

“It is constantly in your head gnawing away at you. Always wondering, will today be the day you get a bit of news.

“You are waiting and watching the news to see if there will be a body washed up or something.”

Carol, who still lives in Swords, is renewing her appeal for information on the case.

“Anyone out there who has any information please get in touch with the Gardaí because if nothing else it gives you peace of mind because it has been a hard 41 years,” he said.

“Every year, we are getting older and you want to know something before we end up dying.”

Gardaí believe Albert may have travelled in a white Wolseley car, which was never located.
