Irish Water have warned that homeowners have will have to identify leaks themselves in order to qualify for free repairs.

The company are advising that faulty pipes need to be found within a year - after which the homeowner will have to pay for the cost of fixing pipes themselves.

The government has estimated that one in ten homes will require repairs to leaky pipes and have set aside 30 million euro to fund repairs.
