An Irish nanny is due to appear before a court in Boston today, charged with the first degree murder of a baby in her care.
Aisling McCarthy Brady from Lavey in Co Cavan is expected to enter a plea of ‘not guilty’.
The 34 year old is accused of killing one year old girl baby Rehma Sabir in January.
McCarthy Brady was originally charged with the assault and battery of baby Rehma - but last week those charges were upgraded to murder.
In a statement released yesterday evening, the District Attorney in Middlesex County, which covers the Boston area, said the Cavan nanny will appear in Court at 9am US time today.
Ms McCarthy Brady’s lawyer has denied the nanny caused any harm to the baby.
