The major Islamic organizations in Ireland have condemned the terrorist attacks in Paris which have killed 129 people.

In a statement signed by 16 bodies from across Ireland, they unequivocally condemn the attacks, for which the Islamic State has claimed responsibility.

"We believe that these horrendous and inhumane attacks are against all human and moral values and are crimes against humanity that cannot be justified under any circumstances and such acts should be denounced wherever they occur," the statement reads.

In addition to offering their condolences to families and victims, they say they "disassociate our faith and our fellow Muslims from such violent and brutal acts and those who perpetrate them".

"Murder, the most horrendous act of terrorism, is strictly forbidden in Islam. In a deterring way Allah states that the murder of one person is as evil as killing all people," said Dr Ali Selim of the Irish Council of Imams.
