The female member of the Defence Forces reported being attacked by a male colleague late on Monday night.

She has already been treated at a sexual assault unit.

No arrests have been made and gardaí say investigations are ongoing.

The Defence Forces have issued a statement saying they’re aware of this alleged incident.

They said: "Óglaigh na hÉireann are aware of an alleged incident that recently took place in a hotel that is currently in use for the purpose of Mandatory Hotel Quarantine.

"As the matter is the subject of an ongoing Garda investigation, it is inappropriate and not possible for us to comment any further."

The Defence Forces provide staff at six designated Mandatory Hotel Quarantine Facilities.
