Gardai have launched a murder investigation following the death of a mother of two in Westmeath.

The body of 43-year-old Brigid Maguire was found at a house in Ballynacargy, Co Westmeath at 9:30pm last night.

The results from the post mortem at the Midlands Regional Hospital were released to Gardai tonight and a murder investigation was launched.

Anyone with information is being asked to contact gardaí.
