Footage from the cockpit of a jet which crashed at an airshow in England showed it "appeared to be responding to the pilot's control inputs".

Eleven people died after the Hawker Hunter plane failed to pull out of a stunt during the Shoreham Airshow on 22nd August, plunging onto the busy A27 road and exploding.

The initial report by the Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB) added that the cockpit footage revealed no "abnormal indications" during the flight.

The wreckage of the jet is being examined by AAIB investigators in Farnborough, Hampshire.

West Sussex senior coroner Penelope Schofield opened and adjourned an inquest into the deaths at a hearing in Horsham on Wednesday.

The victims have been identified as retired engineer James Graham Mallinson, 72; window cleaner and builder Mark Trussler, 54; cycling friends Dylan Archer, 42, and Richard Smith, 26; NHS manager Tony Brightwell, 53; grandfather Mark Reeves, 53; Worthing United footballers Matthew Grimstone and Jacob Schilt, both 23; personal trainer Matt Jones, 24; wedding chauffeur Maurice Abrahams, 76; and Daniele Polito, 23.

The jet's pilot, Andrew Hill, is being treated in a specialist hospital.
