The Independent News & Media’s (INM) media group’s total revenues rose by 1.1% year-on-year to the end of October, compared to a marginal decline in the first six months of the year.

The renewed revenue growth was partially driven by new distribution contracts for its Newspread business - including one with The Irish Times.

Total advertising revenues increased by 3.7% during the period, driven by a 44% increase in digital revenues. Print advertising revenues continued to decline – down 1.2% while newspaper circulation sales revenues were 3% lower.

The Irish Independent remains Ireland’s most popular daily newspaper, with a circulation of close to 110,000. While The Sunday Independent is the most popular Sunday paper - selling 214,000 copies every week.

“INM continues to perform well in 2015 and we anticipate a full year performance in line with expectations.

“Circulation declines year-on-year have lessened since the interim results, with the investment in product and increased retail activity in the third quarter, delivering this improved performance,” the group said in a statement.
