Oklahoma has ordered an indefinite stay of execution for Richard Glossip and two other death row inmates.
The latest twist comes after prison officials found they had the wrong drug for carrying out the lethal injection.
State governor, Mary Fallin, had already ordered a last-minute reprieve for the 52-year-old on Wednesday amid concerns over one of the drugs involved.

The state had received potassium acetate instead of the court-approved potassium chloride.
Glossip's execution was delayed for 37 days and rescheduled for 6 November.
But this stay has now been made indefinite.
