Luas workers are being urged to come up with a new pay claim this weekend.

Another 48 hour strike is underway in the capital in the long running dispute between Transdev and its employees.

Management say they're open to a new pay proposal for drivers - as long as it's reasonable - after the most recent deal at the Workplace Relations Commission was rejected by them.

Fianna Fail's Transport spokesperson Timmy Dooley says a task force should be established to bring about a resolution.

A forensic examination will be carried out at the scene of a fatal workplace accident at a quarry in Gorey county Wexford today.

Investigators from the Health and Safety Authority as well as Gardaí are attempting to find out what led to the death of a 45-year-old man yesterday.

It's understood the local man had been driving a digger when he was fatally injured.
He has been removed to University Hospital Waterford where a post mortem will be carried out.
