Former All-Ireland winning hurler DJ Carey has appeared in court charged with 21 fraud and forgery offences.
Mr Carey has been sent forward for trial before Dublin Circuit Criminal Court.
The five-time All-Ireland winner with Kilkenny is accused of inducing people to pay him money by fraudulently claiming to have cancer, and that he needed the money to obtain treatment.

The 52-year-old was arrested by appointment this morning and brought before Judge John O’Leary at Blanchardstown District Court.
He was served with a book of evidence and sent forward for trial at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court.
The court heard Mr Carey has no income whatsoever, and he was granted legal aid.
He was remanded on bail to appear in court again next month.
