Headford teenager Kirsty Bohan has been remembered as a joyful, lively and talented person at her funeral mass today.

Hundreds of mourners attended the 14-year-old’s memorial at the Church of St Patrick and Cuana in Headford this afternoon.

Fr Dixie Faber told the congregation that Ms Bohan “loved the company of her friends” and she was “just beginning to spread her wings”.

Faber said Ms Bohan had an “love [and] inborn talent for painting” that “would have been a great accomplishment for the future”.

“She always found herself in company. She was drawn to people and people were drawn to her,” he said.

Fr Faber asked the congregation to share sympathies with Ms Bohan’s mother, father, older sisters and school friends.

Kirtsy died alongside 14-year-old Lukas Joyce in a car crash on the Bank Holiday Monday.

Two other children - a 13-year-old boy and 14-year-old girl - who were also in the car were taken to hospital to be treated for their injuries.

14-year-old Lukas will be buried tomorrow at Annaghdown Cemetery, following a service at St Brendan's Church.
