A woman who fell on a cliff path at Howth Head this morning has been taken to Beaumont Hospital.

It is understood she may have slipped on the near Whitewater Brook, and sustained a head injury.

The Irish Coast Guard cliff rescue unit from Howth was dispatched and the woman was located.

She was stretchered to an ambulance and taken to Beaumont Hospital.

Her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
