A new survey shows people are paying more to live close to primary and secondary schools.
According to property website Daft.ie, homeowners are paying €4,700 on average, to live within 200 metres of a primary school and €3,600 to live nearby post primary schools.
The research shows this rises to an average of €25,000 for primary schools in South County Dublin.
Assistant Professor of Economics at Trinity College Dublin and Economist at Daft.ie, Ronan Lyons, says the report highlights proximity to primary schools costs more in rural areas than cities and towns, but less for post primary schools.
