A hit-and-run investigation has been launched after a man was found dead at the side of the road in Donegal last night.
Gardaí said the man’s body was found by a dirver on the road at Windyhall in Letterkenny at around 4am.
He was removed to Letterkenny General Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
Investigators believe he was out walking when he was hit by a vehicle that failed to remain at the scene.
A forensic examination of the crash site is under way and a full technical exam will take place later.
The road remains closed with local diversions in place.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone with any information to come forward. They are particularly interested in talking to drivers who were in the area between 1am to 4am and may have camera footage.
