A live grenade has been found in County Galway overnight.
The army bomb squad was called out when the historic device was discovered during the renovation of a building in the Raheen area just outside Caherlistrane.
The team arrived on scene at around 10 pm and the bomb was then safely transported to an open green area for a controlled explosion.
