Two hikers who went missing on a mountain on the Dingle Peninsula yesterday evening have been found.
Dingle Coastguard and Kerry Mountain Rescue found the man and woman on Stradbally Mountain just after 11pm last night.
The alarm was raised after they failed to return to their car amid heavy mist and fog.
Up to 40 people were involved in the search in the mountains near Annascaul Lake.
Valentia Coastguard Station Officer, Gerry O'Brien said the pair were found three hours after the initial search began.
“Last night, we got a call from the Gardaí approximately around 8pm that they required assistant locating two people on Stradbally Mountain, they had been missing; they got lost,” he said.
“Around 11:15pm, we located them safe and well in a place called the Windy Gap on the mountain.”
They were helped down off the mountain and are now recovering.
