Heroin worth over €53,000 has been seized in County Cork.

Garda Dog Rex found the drugs during a search at a house in the Grenagh area shortly before 3pm yesterday.

A man in his 30s was arrested and taken to Gurranabraher Garda Station where he is being questioned.

Gardai from Blarney and Cork city were involved in the search.
