It's claimed that European Union offices and computer networks have been targeted by US spies.
According to an article published by German magazine Der Spiegal, the US national security agency has bugged EU offices in Brussels and Washington.
The magazine says the claims are based on confidential documents obtained by the whistleblower Edward Snowden.

The European Parliament President Martin Schulz has said in a statement he's shocked at the allegations, and is seeking full clarification from Washington.
