The government has restated its commitment to Universal Health Insurance despite a row over its cost.
At their Cabinet meeting this morning Ministers affirmed their plans to introduce the system before the end of the decade.
In the Dail this afternoon, the Taoiseach said the White Paper to explain the scheme would be published in the coming weeks.
Last week, it was reported that draft proposals were set to be changed. The White Paper has been discussed by a subcommittee within Cabinet which focuses on health.
It is reported that cost control arrangements are to be reinforced before the wider group of Ministers work on the document.
Taoiseach Enda Kenny says TDs will be given a full opportunity to decide exactly what services should be included in mandatory health insurance.
