class="MsoNormal">The gaffe is being blamed on an IT glitch.

class="MsoNormal">They now face an agonising wait as the University of Ulster’s Faculty of Computing and Engineering works out how to resolve the situation.

class="MsoNormal">They also have to clarify who to actually offer places to.

class="MsoNormal">Everyone who applied for a place was told they had been accepted.

class="MsoNormal">Some had already turned down other places at different universities.

class="MsoNormal">The University of Ulster has apologised to those affected.

class="MsoNormal">It says it deeply regrets what happened and is sorry to those who received the e-mail.
