A new train station serving West Dublin will be opened officially today - 3 years after it was built.
Hansfield has been a ghost station on the M3 Parkway rail route after the station was completed but no access road was built. Train services on the line will cater for commuters travelling to Dunboyne, Co. Meath.
The Transport minister Leo Varadkar is officially opening the station, but the first commuters have already passed through on their way into the city centre. They boarded the first train at 6.59 this morning.
