It said the warning was passed to Mr Adams' wife while he was not home.

The 65-year-old was released from Antrim police station last night after four days of questioning about the IRA killing of mother of 10 Jean McConville more than 40 years ago.

Sinn Fein leader Gerry Adams has described his arrest in the Jean McConville investigation as a "sham".

The Louth TD has received death threats since being held in connection with the mother-of-ten's death in 1972.

He spoke at an election rally in Belfast last night, saying Mrs McConville's family have the right to seek justice.

Meanwhile, the North's First Minister Peter Robinson, says Martin McGuinness must reconsider the remarks that he made about the PSNI.

On Friday, Mr McGuinness, who is Deputy First Minister, claimed an 'old rump of the RUC' still exists within the Police Service of Northern Ireland.

Peter Robinson said he hoped prosecutors would not be 'intimidated'

His comments were made while Sinn Fein President Gerry Adams was questioned about the abduction and murder of mother of ten, Jean McConville.

He was released from custody without charge last night and a file will be sent to the North’s Public Prosecution Service.

First Minister Peter Robinson says Mr McGuinness has a duty to give full support to the PSNI.

This news comes on the back of reports that a new effort could be made this summer to resolve a number of issues in the north's peace process.

It's reported today that the Irish and British governments want all sides back around the talks table to focus on areas covered by the Haass talks at the end of last year.

Tanaiste Eamon Gilmore spoke to diplomat Richard Haass by phone yesterday, but there were no formal discussions about his return to continue efforts to resolve questions of the past, parades and flags.
