The former President of the United States George H W Bush has been hospitalised with pneumonia for a second time.
Bush, who is 92, has been there since Friday for observation, according to spokesman Jim McGrath
McGrath issued a brief statement, saying: "President George H. W. Bush was admitted to Houston Methodist Hospital on Friday for observation due to a persistent cough that prevented him from getting proper rest.
"It was subsequently determined he had a mild case of pneumonia, which was treated and has been resolved.
"President Bush is in very good spirits and is being held for further observation while he regains his strength."
In January, Bush spent 16 days at the same hospital being treated for pneumonia. A week after being released, he and wife Barbara took part in the Super Bowl coin toss.
During that time, he was on a ventilator and was in ICU.
Bush served as president from 1989 to 1993 and is the father of former President George W. Bush.
He will be celebrating his 93rd birthday on June 12.
