Gardai have arrested 14 people in Drogheda as part of a crackdown on the sale and supply of drugs.

The 13 men and one woman were arrested in the last 48 hours as part of Operation Corona.

Gardai made the arrests as they targeted those dealing in heroin, cannabis herb and other controlled drugs.

It was the culmination of a four month long covert operation which a spokesman said, "has dismantled a number of significant drug distribution networks operation in the Drogheda area.

More than 30 charges have been preferred and all arrested, who range in age from 17 to 48, will appear in court in Drogheda in the morning.
