Gardai in Cork are appealing for witnesses after a viable device was found in Cork city earlier.
It was discovered outside a house in Knocknaheeney just after 9am this morning.
A cordon was put in place along with traffic restrictions, and a number of houses were evacuated.
A controlled explosion was carried out at the scene.
The device was then removed to a military location for further testing and the scene was declared safe at half past twelve.
It's the second device in two days to be found in the area.
Speaking to RedFM, Superintendent Con Cadogan says the family who found the device are very upset - and gardaí are appealing for anyone with any information to come forward.
