A 13 year old boy remains in a critical condition in hospital in Dublin after being struck by a car at the weekend.

The incident happened on the Carpenterstown Road just after half past eight on Sunday night.

The teenager was hit by a black BMW 5 Series.

Emergency services were contacted and the boy was taken to Temple Street Hospital where his injuries are described as critical.

Blanchardstown Gardai are appealing for any witnesses to an incident to come forward.
