The Dept of Foreign Affairs say they're continuing their efforts to arrange a visit with the four Irish siblings detained in Egypt since Saturday.
The three sisters and their brother, all aged between 17 and 27 years, got caught up in violent clashes in Cairo between supporters of ousted president Morsi and security forces.
They were cleared out of a mosque when military forces stormed the building and are tonight being held at a Cairo jail.
The Irish-Egyptian family, from Firhouse in South Dublin, will now face their third night in custody.
The Department of Foreign Affairs says they have been in touch with Egyptian Authorities and are doing everything they can to bring them home.
Earlier around 80 protestors gathered at the Egyptian embassy in Dublin today, to demand their release from a prison in Cairo.
The group was made up of both Irish and Egyptian demonstrators.
Their family has described the actions of security forces in Egypt as a coup.
Mahmoud Ahmed was one of the protestors at the Dublin embassy earlier today.
