Gardaí have arrested a second man after an alleged assault and robbery of an 89-year-old woman in Limerick on Sunday, August 2nd.

The incident happened at Rossbrien Road, a number of weeks ago.

The woman was hospitalised at the time after a man stole her handbag and made off with an amount of cash.

A man was previously arrested and has been released without charge.

A 25-year-old man was arrested today and is being held at Roxboro Road Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
