Gardaí appeal for information on fatal Longford collision

Gardai are appealing for witnesses after a man in his 30s was killed in a collision between a car and a minibus in Co. Longford last night.

The collision happened on the N4 Dublin to Longford Road at Corboy in Edgewardstown at around 11pm.

The 36-year-old male driver of the car was seriously injured in the collision and pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the minibus was taken to Mullingar hospital where his injuries are described as non life threatening.

14 young passengers and two adult passengers who were on the bus were treated at the scene.

The road is closed to facilitate a Forensic Collision Examination and Gardai are appealing for any witnesses to contact Granard Garda station.
