Perhaps one of the more unusual stories to come out of this year’s Web Summit was the news that the president of a worldwide group of content producers was on the hunt for an Irish toddler.
Fullscreen's Ezra Cooperstein said part of the reason he’d come to the country was to track down the people behind Arcadius Kul, a toy-review YouTube channel that’s produced in the midlands.
You’ve probably never heard of the channel, but that hasn’t stopped the people behind it from gaining support from 278,000 subscribers - who’ve helped push the channel views to nearly 300m.
One industry insider described the channel as “Ireland’s biggest YouTube star that no one has ever heard of.”
Of course, the father-son duo producing Arcadius Kul is not the only Irish YouTube channel to have gone viral - there are Irish people uploading content to the video-sharing platform every day to the delight of their international fanbase.
