Learn from experts on how you can better plan for your financial future through investing with Bank of Ireland's Invested webinar series.

Over the past year throughout the pandemic, a lot of people have started saving or thinking about their financial futures. One thing that is top of a lot of people's minds is investing.

But it isn’t always easy to know where to invest. That’s why Bank of Ireland launched its popular 4-part webinar education series – Invested – to help people learn about investing and make the best choices for their financial planning.

The series kicked off in April by covering the basics of investing and the role it can play in your future financial planning and continued last month with the exploration of The Great Debate: Property or Shares. With Ross Harris, Head of Residential Investments at Sherry Fitzgerald and Tom Stevenson, Investments Director at Fidelity Investments leading the conversation, the consensus was that both have a role to play in successful investing.

In the next instalment of the series, which will take place on June 24th, attendees will learn all about common mistakes when it comes to investments and how to avoid them.

Gaining confidence with Investing

Bank of Ireland's Head of Pensions and Investments, Bernard Walsh, will lead this webinar where he will be joined by Jeremy Lawson, Chief Economist and Head of ASI Research Institute at Aberdeen Standard Investments and Chris Johns, Financial Services Executive and Irish Times columnist.

Knowing the basics is one thing but being a competent and confident investor is another. Jeremy Lawson will explain how the “herd instinct” is a powerful force when it comes to investing and how the seven deadly sins feature as much here as they do in other aspects of life – particularly greed and sloth!

As well as having decades of investment management experience, you might know Chris Johns from his popular Irish Times column or podcast The Other Hand; and in this webinar, he will be taking us through what it means to be investing today in a world of Brexit, Bitcoin, a pandemic and more.

As always, you will be given the opportunity to put your questions to the speakers on the day so be sure to come ready for a truly fascinating and informative learning experience.

Upcoming webinars

If you are interested in continuing to learn more about investing, the final webinar of the series will be taking place in July. You can see details on what will be discussed below:

What does the future hold? (Thursday, July 15th)

The fourth and final webinar will aim to set you up with an insight into what trends are going to shape the world of investing well into the future. The final webinar will be hosted again by Bernard Walsh who will be in discussion with Leona Nicholson, Head of Investment Management at Bank of Ireland Investment Markets and Martin Dietz, Head of Diversified Strategies, Legal & General Investment Management.
