The GAA is to investigate a large brawl that erupted at Sunday's All Ireland Senior Football Quarter Final.

The chaotic scenes at the game between Galway and Armagh included players, subs, backroom staff and members of extended panels.

Players from both sides clashed as they headed for the dressing room tunnel at the end of normal time.

In one incident, Galway player Damien Comer allegedly had his eye gouged by a member of the Armagh panel.

Galway eventually won the game 4-1 on penalties after the two sides drew 2-21 to 3-18.

The GAA’s Central Competitions Control Committee will now carry out a full investigation into the brawl.
