The funeral has taken place of Donegal couple Jimmy and Kathleen Cuddihy who were found dead at their home in Cardonagh last week.

Speaking at the funeral mass at the Sacred Heart Church in Cardonagh, the Bishop of Derry Donal McKeown said the deaths had caused tears, fear and anxiety in the parish and far beyond it.

The couple’s daughter appealed to families of those suffering from mental health issues to look for help from the appropriate services.

Their son, Julian Cuddihy (42), has been charged with the murder of his parents.

He is to appear before Letterkenny District Court tomorrow.
