A Dublin man extradited from the Netherlands in connection with a pub row last year is due to enter a plea next month.

Frederick Thompson from Loreto Road, Maryland in Dublin is facing one charge of violent disorder.

He was brought back to Ireland last week on foot of a European Arrest Warrant.

The 33-year-old, who's also known as Freddie, was arrested by Dutch police in Amsterdam a few weeks ago.

After touching down on Irish soil, he was charged with violent disorder in relation to a brawl outside Morrissey's pub on Cork Street in January last year.

He could face up to ten years behind bars if convicted before a judge and jury, which is how the DPP wishes to deal with his case.

He appeared in court today, where a date for his arraignment was set for June 20th.

The District Court previously refused him bail but he's in the process of appealing that to the High Court.

In the meantime, Judge Mary Ellen Ring remanded him in further custody.
