Three people and a suspect have died following a shooting at a bank in the US state of Ohio.

It happened at the Fifth Third Bank at Walnut Street in Cincinnati.

According to police, the shooting took place in the bank's lobby and loading dock at around 9:10am.

Three people were killed and five others injured.

Several officers are said to have responded and 'engaged the shooter', with police later confirming that the suspect had died.

The area around the bank was sealed off as emergency services responded to the 'active shooter' incident.

Earlier, police urged anyone in the immediate vicinity to "remain on lockdown until further notice".
