Jim Furyk has created some PGA Tour history at the Travelers Championship.

The American becomes the first golfer to shoot a 58. The 2003 US Open winner had shared the previous record of 59 with six other players but has now created history all of his own.

Another torrent website closes down, marking a major change in online piracy

According to TechCrunch, KickassTorrents (KAT) was forcefully closed down when the owner of the website had his location tracked following a legal purchase of an item on iTunes.

This week, yet another file sharing site was closed, indicating a massive shift in the manner of how online piracy is being organised.

Gymnast Kieran Behan struggled through a dislocated knee to complete his routine

Late on Saturday night, Ireland's Kieran Behan took to the floor in Rio to complete a dream that had almost been taken from him on a number of occasions. 

As a child, Behan suffered complications from an operation that left him in a wheelchair, but somehow he fought back to return to gymnastics training. After London 2012, he once again faced having to call an end to his career after needing surgery again on his knee, his fifth operation.  

Once again, he battled back with some incredible performances to qualify for the Olympics in Rio, but last night disaster struck again as Behan dislocated his knee during his first tumbling line on the floor exercise. However, instead of heading straight for the wheelchair and getting medical attention, Behan continued his routine and eventually finished.

Brexit: 73% increase in Irish passport applications from Great Britain

A rush for Irish passports is continuing in the wake of Britain’s decision to leave the EU.

New figures from the Department of Foreign Affairs show a significant rise in the number of passport applications from the UK.

The number of people from Northern Ireland seeking passports increased by 63% in July, while in the first full month since the Brexit result, there were 7,321 applications from people in Great Britain.

Irish man arrested in Brazil for touting tickets

An Irish man is being detained in Rio on suspicion of ticket touting.

The Brazillian newspaper Estadao reported that Irish citizen Kevin James Marlen was arrested on Friday at a hotel near the Maracana stadium.
