Gardai are continuing to question five men in connection with an armed robbery in Balbriggan in North Dublin.

They were arrested in a taxi on the M1 shortly after the incident, at a jewellery shop on Drogheda Street, at around 5 o'clock yesterday evening.

Gardaí say four men entered the shop with hammers and threatened staff and caused extensive damage to the store.

The men, four of whom are in their teens and one in his 20s, are being held in Ballymun, Coolock and Balbriggan Garda Stations.
