A mother has had to be rescued by firefighters in the UK after being locked in a cupboard by her one year-old baby.

Emergency services were called to a house in Plymstock in Devon earlier.

It is thought she had managed to get the attention of her next-door neighbours, who phoned for help.

"Crews used small tools and a triple extension ladder to gain access and release the adult from the cupboard," a fire spokesman said.

The mother and child have been reunited.
