Fianna Fáil says there is "no justification" for the proposal to sell Aer Lingus, but believes the deal is done already.
Transport spokesman Timmy Dooley says it is clear that the government intends to sell the airline one way or another.
Yesterday the Labour Party adopted a policy demanding guarantees of no compulsory redundancies at the airline before they'll agree to a sale.
Deputy Dooley says that's just "posturing," but says there is absolutely no need to sell the airline right now:
The party is also calling for a new "National League" for car parking.
It says county councils need to be encouraged to offer cheaper parking for people who want to shop in rural towns.
It's one of a number of proposals in a new document to try and reinvigorate the economy outside Ireland's major cities.
