Fianna Fáil says the Justice Minister has to go, and the party also wants him to apologise to Garda whistleblower Sergeant Maurice McCabe.
At the party's Ard Fheis in Kerry this afternoon Justice spokesperson Niall Collins said the time was up for Alan Shatter following a series of high profile controversies surrounding the Justice Minister in recent months.
Collins says the Minister had failed in his job - three times in recent weeks:
“We have witnessed a trilogy of failings by Mr. Shatter. The PAC penalty points debacle, shocking revelations of potential bugging at GSOC and the exposure of his contemptuous treatment of the whistleblower Sergerant Maurice McCabe are a testament to his arrogant failings.
“This triumvirate of failure have all been a result of the total mismanagement by Minister Shatter,” Collins said.
