A man (47) and his son (17) are recovering from minor stab injuries after an incident in Tralee, Co Kerry this morning.

The two confronted a man at the back of their house in Woodbrook Lawn in the town at around 6am.

It is believed he may have interfered with a car parked in the driveway of the house.

The man and his son received minor stab wounds in an altercation that followed, and were brought to Kerry General Hospital.

Gardaí are looking for a man described as 5-feet-11 inches in height, with light blonde short hair and slim build.

He was wearing a black hoodie with white stripes on the sleeves.
