Essex farmer, Ted Kinsella, has possibly brought his Ford Mustang obsession a bit too far by planting a 60-metre “horticultural homage” in honour of the “galloping stallion” in his field.

This “topiary tribute” took 20 people 6 days to create. To ensure the dimensions were correct the farmer’s used GPS technology.

Mr Kinsella said that his love for the Mustang started when he was a little boy. He saw an imported Mustang travel by him and he thought, “What a PUKKA motor”. The tribute, which can be seen by over-flying airplanes, was created by the farmer in the hope that it will one day be available with right hand drive. Creating his own Field of Dreams, Mr Kinsella said, “If I plant it, maybe they’ll come”.

Mr Kinsella’s dreams will soon come through as it was announced last year that the Mustang, for the first time in its fifty year history will be built for the Irish and UK markets. Apparently the farmer has one on order. Despite this being April fool’s day, we should expect the arrival of the first Mustangs in Ireland by October of this year.
