Family members of those who died in past wars or on UN service will attend the annual National Day of Commemoration Ceremony.
The event aims to honour people who died in past wars or on service with the United Nations.
The National Day of Commemoration Ceremony in Dublin will be attended by the President, the Taoiseach, the Government and the Council of State, as well as members of Dáil and Seanad Éireann, the Diplomatic Corps, the Judiciary and Northern Ireland representatives.
Captain Donal Gallagher from the Military Press Office says events will take place in several location's across the country today.
