The FAI and the Republic of Ireland Women's National Team have reached an agreement after mediation talks carried on into the early hours of Thursday morning.

In a statement released today by the FAI, talks are said to have come to a "successful conclusion" and that all the issues raised by the players were successfully addressed.

Players did not attend scheduled training ahead of their clash with Slovakia next Monday, but will return to full training today as a result of the talks.

The FAI said it was "pleased that both sides have reached common agreement and a settlement" and urges the two parties to "move forward as one, in the best interests of Irish football".

Talks continued until the Association released a statement at 3.25am on Thursday morning.

The issues were highlighted on Tuesday morning after players held a press conference to air their grievances with the FAI.

Reimbursement for loss of earnings through attending international games, match fees and tracksuits for team members travelling to and from games were all highlighted.

The Women's National team were represented alongside members of the Professional Footballers Association of Ireland (PFAI) and members of SIPTU.
