Late-night negotiations are continuing between Fine Gael and Independents

They have been examining a Programme for Government details of which have been leaking out to the media.

16-year-old sentenced to six-months for Jobstown protest

He is the first person to be jailed in connection with the Jobstown protests, in which Joan Burton and her entourage were allegedly trapped in their car for hours in November 2014.

The court heard he has prior convictions for theft and has already served a sentence, which expired in January, for his other offences.

Gardaí renew appeal for mother of baby girl to come forward

The remains of the baby were discovered at the Greenstar Recycling Plant in Fassaroe in Bray yesterday morning.

A post mortem was carried out this evening, the findings of which would suggest that the baby was born some weeks earlier than initially thought.

Superintendent Pat Ward reiterated that he is very concerned for the welfare of the mother as she is possibly in a distressed state and in need of medical assistance.

Up to 88,000 people have been displaced in the Albertan city of Fort McMurray as a result of raging wildfires, with residents of three more Canadian communities being forces from their homes.

Mandatory evacuation orders have now been issued for the Anzac, Gregoire Lake Estates and Fort McMurray First Nation areas - all of which are about 50km away from where the fire first began.
